Lahore: According to press reports, alternate traffic lanes for light and heavy vehicles traveling through Shahkam Chowk have been made effective from Wednesday (June 16). The Shahkam Chowk Flyover is scheduled to be completed in January 2022, however, reports say the intersection will be blocked for the next ten months.

For traffic coming from Defence Road, Bahria Town, Canal Road, and Multan Road, Shahkam Chowk will stay closed. The following traffic routes have been opened for vehicles, according to the plan:

1.Traffic will be rerouted from Canal Road to Bahria Town via Jubilee Town, Mohlanwal Road, and Defence Road.

2.Traffic from Defence Road will be rerouted over the Green Society Bridge to Bahria Town.

3.The Jallianwala Bridge, which connects Bahria Town to Rohi Nala Road, will remain blocked.

4.Heavy traffic would travel via Thokar Niaz Baig to Sundar Road and Raiwind Road.
