Rawalpindi: According to news reports, on Ashura, Pakistan International Airlines will fly special flights to Iraq.

According to a PIA official, the airline plans to run direct flights from Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi to Najaf, Iraq.

It will conduct 11 flights to Najaf beginning August 11 to transport pilgrims, with return flights beginning August 21.

For a long time, he claimed, pilgrims have wanted direct flights from Pakistan to Najaf on Ashura.

The PIA has established appealing fares for visitors from Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore, according to the spokesman.

Arshad Malik, PIA’s Chief Executive Officer, said the airline had always conducted special flights on religious holidays.
