Islamabad: According to a news report, the Federal Government has decided to invest Rs. 469 billion upon different infrastructure development projects. These projects are aimed at modernization and upgrading for “accelerating growth.” The proposed projects include the expenditure on the sectors of energy, water, environment, risk management and transport.

According to the details shared, the following amounts are pledged for the infrastructural upgrade:
- Rs. 228.767 billion has been set aside for the energy sector development
- Rs. 90.313 billion allocated for the water sector projects
- Rs. 14 billion will be spent on the Ten Billion Trees Tsunami Program (TBTP) Phase-I and the training of the local population in Risk Disaster management

For the building of logistics and transportation infrastructure, PKR 302 billion has been made aside. The government had budgeted 173.8 billion for logistics and transportation in fiscal year 2021-21, however only PKR 127 billion was spent. For the current fiscal year 2021-2022, the modernised logistics budget is 74% more than the previous year.
