According to sources, plans are already in the works to build a new IT tower in Lahore, for which a site search is expected to be completed soon. The planned tower was to be built behind Arfa Karim Tower, however, that plan was scrapped in favor of a 1000-bed hospital.
According to the information presented, the proposed IT tower will be built in collaboration with China. A survey of potential places has previously been given to the government in this aspect.
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has changed the design of the under-construction Gulab Devi underpass, which is expected to reduce the project’s cost. The position of the loop, which is now reversed before ascending the Lahore Bridge, was adjusted, according to reports. The loop’s changed position will prevent the acquisition of 2.5 Kanals of land valued PKR 60 million.
Furthermore, the design and construction processes are moving quickly, and piling for the underpass walls has begun. Sardar Usman Buzdar, the Punjab Chief Minister, is also likely to visit the construction site soon to get an update on the project, for which the authorities are making preparations.
