PESHAWAR: Islamabad has established the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Investment Board (BoI) to set up a joint task force to resolve business community issues and to attract KP investments, including newly combined districts, by creating a favourable business environment under the vision of the Prime Minister as ‘Easy to Do business.’
The decision was made after a meeting between SCCI president Sherbaz Bilour, Executive Director General and Additional Secretary of BOI Islamabad, Mukaram Jan Ansari and KPBOIT CEO Hassan Daud Butt here at the chamber house on Thursday.
In addition, Manzuor Elahi, Senior Vice President for SCCI, Muhammad Hussain former president Haji Muhammad Awan, Shahid Hussain former senior vice-presidents, Miss Niaz Muhammad Awan former vice-presidents, Abdul Jalil Jan, Zahor Khan, SCCI Executive Committee members, Waqar Ahmad, Shams Rahim, Saddar Gul, Faiz Rasool and Razid Aman, Senior Superintendent for BOI I SMEDA.
During Bilour’s speech, he emphasized that KP is a lucrative investment location. However, he called the government’s efforts to make business easier insufficient.
He informed that SCCI is making aggressive efforts to attract investment and industrialization, especially to solve the problems of the business community in KP, in partnership with relevant government ministries, including KPBOIT.
The chief of the SCCI highlighted the role played by the business community in the country’s economic progress.
He urged the government, therefore, to take practical actions to facilitate business at all levels.
