LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly has been asked to ensure that model bazaars have enough wheat flour and sugar.

Hina Pervaiz Butt, a lawmaker from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, submitted a resolution to the assembly secretariat here on Monday criticizing the Punjab government for staging a drama over the supply of cheap sugar at model bazaars, according to her.

According to her, consumers are only permitted to buy one packet of one kilogram sugar from bazaars for Rs65 per kilogram, while sweetener and wheat flour have been missing from the facilities since day one. She argues that since the two items were not available at the bazaars, a significant number of customers went home empty-handed.

She demands in the resolution that ample supplies of flour and sugar be made available at the facilities, with a focus on providing customers with high-quality goods during Ramadan.

Another PML-N MP, Sumera Komal, has introduced a resolution criticizing Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s use of a particular plane to visit Germany.

She remembers Imran Khan, before becoming Prime Minister, criticizing VVIP culture and etiquette and promising to use commercial flights for international trips. But, she concludes, Mr Qureshi’s use of a particular aircraft for his foreign trip disproves all of these arguments.
