Lahore: In a recent news report, since September 2018, Pakistan Railways has decided to eliminate the dam fund that was previously levied on each rail ticket. According to a PR spokesman, Railways Minister Azam Khan Swati gave directives on Wednesday to remove dam finance charges.

The railroads charged Rs.1 per ticket for economy class up to Rs. 100, Rs2 for more than Rs. 100, and Rs. 10 for AC class to contribute Rs. 100 million in dam money each year. The reduction was imposed to cover the costs of building the Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand dams.
