Islamabad: According to a news outlet, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has accelerated the completion of legal formalities on the Daraban Economic Zone (DEZ) in Dera Ismail Khan. Daraban Economic Zone is also one of the country’s main economic zones.

The zone is on the western side of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which links Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The DEZ is supposed to be included in CPEC; the decision will be made at the CPEC’s decision-making body’s upcoming meetings.

The provincial government has already purchased 3,125 acres of land for the SEZ development. At the same time, as stated by Faisal Amin Gandapur, a lawmaker from Dera Ismail Khan, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company is in constant contact with the local administration for land consolidation, which is the only formality left now.
