Gujrat: On Sunday, work on the 51-kilometer road linking Mandi Bahauddin to GT Road and Sara-i-Alamgir town began.
The federal government has authorised a Rs. 6 billion project to turn a two-way road into a dual carriageway. The Punjab Communication and Works Department has been tasked with carrying it out. It would also improve traffic flow between Islamabad and Mandi Bahauddin.

The programme was suggested by PTI MNA Haji Imtiaz Ahmed Chaudhary, and it is currently included in the current development budget.
Because the majority of the road’s run lies along the bank of the Upper Jhelum Canal, a representative from the Mandi district government indicated that the project will be completed in six phases, beginning from King Road Chowk and ending at Sara-i-Alamgir.
