Rawalpindi: Sheikh Rashid Shafique, the Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Narcotics Control, said on Friday that the players’ hostel at Liaquat Bagh Sports Complex (LBSC) was nearing completion, which would assist encourage sports activities in Rawalpindi.

During his visit to the Sports Complex, he announced that work on a dorm at Liaquat Bagh Sports Complex to provide improved residential facilities for 100 players had begun, and that the project will be completed at a cost of Rs. 100 million.

He further stated that a Rs. 100 million international grade swimming pool would be built here when the tendering procedure was concluded. He also mentioned that the project’s work order had been issued.

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, the Federal Interior Minister, said the project’s foundation stone would be laid next week.

District Sports Officer, Rawalpindi, Shams Tauheed Abbasi, Deputy Director, Project Management Unit, Muhammad Imran and Coach Shafqat Abbasi briefed the Parliamentary Secretary about the players’ hostel and swimming pool projects.
