Mardan: On Sunday, the board of governors of Mardan’s Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) said that construction on the buildings of Bacha Khan Medical College (BKCM) and Benazir Bhutto Children Hospital (BBCH) was well underway and that the two projects would be finished shortly. The project directors for the two initiatives said this at the BoG’s 44th meeting, which was chaired by Prof. Dr. Syed Fazle Hadi.

The meeting was conducted in BKMC, with board members Tahir Ali Khan and Attaullah Khan Toru in attendance, as well as veteran journalist Rahimullah Yusufzai and Dr. Shahid Khattak participating by video connection. Prof Dr Mohammad Fazil, Dean/CEO BKMC/MMC, Prof Dr Mukhtiar Ali, hospital director Dr Tariq Mehmood, director finance Mohammad Sheraz, nursing director Mehrun Nisa, and other authorities were in attendance.

Employees of the Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) and its component units will get a pay raise, as well as an honorarium for those who served during the Covid-19 epidemic. Dr. Tariq Mehmood, the hospital’s director, updated the group on the status of current uplift initiatives. Civil work on the library, elevators, gynaecology and medical wards, among other things, he added, had been finished.

The Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center, he added, has agreed to equip the MMC with Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) software.
