Islamabad: According to press reports, Prime Minister Imran Khan broke ground to begin construction on the 7th Avenue Interchange and the restoration of I.J.P Road.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) chose to purchase these road projects when the federal government decided to award contracts to government bodies without floating bids. The Ministry of Deference Frontier Works Organization (FWO) will be in charge of both projects. Another entity in negotiations to carry out the project was the National Logistics Cell (NLC).

The 7th Avenue Interchange in Aabpara, which will be erected at the intersection of 7th Avenue and the Srinagar Highway, would cost Rs. 1.5 billion. Due to the sensitive nature of the project, CDA chose to work with FWO to expedite its completion. The junction will aid in traffic congestion reduction.

It will be a cloverleaf junction with four right and left loops at the intersection of 7th Avenue, Garden Avenue, the Srinagar Highway, and Khayaban-i-Soharwardi, according to new information. An underpass will also be constructed to connect the two parts of Khayaban-i-Soharwardi.
