Swat: According to news reports, Malakand Division Commissioner Syed Zaheerul Islam indicated on Sunday during a meeting in Saidu Shareef that work on the 29.37-kilometer-long Dir Motorway will begin soon.

According to reports, the National Economic Council’s Executive Committee has approved the Dir-Motorway project (ECNEC). According to the information supplied, the project will include a four-lane dual roadway that will run from Chakdara to Rabat.
The project would also contain three interchanges, three toll plazas, two tunnels, four overpasses, four flyovers, seven subways, two underpasses, four livestock passes, four culverts, and 24 bridges.
Representatives from the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organisation gave an update on the solarization of mosques at the meeting. So far, 758 mosques have been solarized as part of the plan, with the remaining mosques set to be converted to renewable energy sources by April 2022.

The attendees were also educated about the Malakand region’s minor hydropower projects, which include 195 planned projects, 182 of which have been finished, and the other 13 in the works. Mian Sharafat Ali, a member of the Provincial Assembly, Mohammad Khaliq Kaka, the Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, Junaid Khan, the Deputy Commissioner of Swat, and project directors from the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organisation.
