Kohat: Under the ‘Clean and Green Pakistan’ programme, the Urban Development Authority (UDA) of Kohat started the creation of a green belt on a one-kilometer section of old Indus Highway road in front of KDA Township on Saturday.

The project is being overseen by UDA director Engineer Saeed Khattak, using plants supplied by the Kohat Cement Company.
Speaking on the event, he stated that the department will assume full responsibility for the plants, ensuring that saplings developed into trees and the environment was enhanced. He stated that the belt will begin at Gate No. 3 and end at Gulshanabad Chowk.
Meanwhile, assistant commissioner Younis Khan of Darra Adamkhel planted a sapling in his office as part of the ‘Green and Clean Pakistan’ programme.
