Karachi: According to a session of the Sindh cabinet briefing on Wednesday, the Ghotki-Kandhkot bridge over the Indus River will be finished by July 2023. Sindh Secretary Works Imran Ata informed Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s provincial cabinet on the construction of the Ghotki-Kandhkot bridge.

In addition, the cabinet was told on the construction of a link road to the M-9 highway.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said, “These are the best projects of the Sindh government being created under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) approach.” The cabinet was updated on the Ghotki-Kandhkot bridge over the Indus, which is being built at a cost of 14 billion rupees.

The provincial cabinet was informed that a 12.8-kilometer approach road will be built on the Ghotki side of the bridge, and a 15.2-kilometer approach road will be built on the Kandhkot side of the bridge. By July 2023, the bridge and approach roads will be completed.

Syed Nasir Shah, Imtiaz Shaikh, administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab, and Qasim Naveed are among the four members of the cabinet’s sub-committee, which will oversee provincial department projects and report to the cabinet.
