Both reservoirs will be finished before the upcoming monsoon season and will hold more than three million gallons of water, which will be utilized by PHA for gardening as well as fire department vehicles to put out fires.

Wasa, according to Wasa Managing Director Syed Zahid Aziz, was the first agency in Pakistan to use underground rainwater storage tanks to mitigate urban flooding. President Arif Alvi, he claimed, admired the concept and wanted to recreate it in Karachi.
