Peshawar: According to press reports, the Peshawar District Administration convened a meeting on Thursday and agreed to destroy the ill-planned housing units in the Jalozai Housing Scheme after compensating the owners.

According to reports, Peshawar Commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud presided over the meeting, which was also attended by Housing Secretary Usman Ali Shah and other district authorities as well as the Provincial Housing Authority (PHA).

Housing units were built on 400 kanals of land in the Jalozai project, which has a total land size of 9,995 kanals, without being planned, according to the meeting. The meeting was informed that poorly planned housing units had harmed the overall housing scheme’s structural integrity. The meeting participants were informed that the district administration had attempted to evict the residents of these residences, but that no legal action had been taken as of yet.
