Karachi: On Thursday, Karachi City Administrator Murtaza Wahab said that tree planting and other projects had begun on important highways in the city, including Mai Kolachi Road.

“As many as 45 palm trees have been planted on Mai Kolachi Road as part of the tree plantation initiative, considerably enhancing the highway’s beauty,” he said. These palm palms, according to Barrister Wahab, were imported from Khairpur with the assistance of the Dua Foundation.

Other Karachi roads, including Sharea Faisal, Shahrah-i-Pakistan, Abdullah Haroon Rd, Sir Shah Sulaiman Rd, Ibn Sina Rd, Rashid Minhas Rd, and S.M. Taufeeq Rd, have begun the process of planting trees and installing street lights, he added. Mr Wahab was also given assistance in tree planting on several city routes by Dr Fayyaz Alam, general secretary of Dua Foundation.
