During a meeting, Senior VP Sheikh stated that the city has only one railway track that connects it to Khanewal and Shahdara. He went on to state that the chamber will meet with the government and the China Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority to discuss including Faisalabad in the projected mega project of ML-1.

ML-1, ML-2, and ML-3 railway lines have been proposed under CPEC to connect Peshawar to Karachi via Multan, according to Standing Committee Chairman Mirza Hadyatullah. He went on to say that because Faisalabad is a significant commercial, export, business, and industrial centre, a direct connectivity to ML-1 is essential for export and import consignment transportation.
