Islamabad: Fareena Mazhar, the Federal Secretary of the Board of Investment (BOI), said on Thursday that the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Chinese and Pakistani cities will assist increase tourism in Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries.

Fareena believes that the signing of an MoU between the Qingdao Tourist Association and the provinces of Punjab and Sindh on Establishing Cooperation Mechanisms among SCO Tourism Cities will serve as a stepping stone toward revitalising two-way tourism relations between Pakistan and China.
According to a news release released by BOI here, the BOI enables the signature of a bilateral Pakistan-China MOU in the tourism sector under the auspices of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The Secretary noted that the BOI feels that now is the moment to join hands and encourage two-way tourism-related business ventures between China and Pakistan, citing the highest office’s desire to enhance the tourist sector.

Imran Khan, Pakistan’s Prime Minister, has often emphasised the importance of the country’s tourism sector’s development.
Asim Ayub, Project Director of the BOI, Islamabad, on Industrial Cooperation under CPEC, said that Pakistan’s tourism sector has enormous investment potential, and the BOI is working hard to enable bilateral investment cooperation between Pakistan and China.
He made these remarks while speaking at an online China-Pakistan Two-Way Tourism Promotion Conference, which was facilitated and arranged by Pakistan’s BOI.
