Multan: According to news sources, Commissioner Multan Division Javed Akhtar Mahmood announced on Saturday that the documentation procedure for the allocation of 10 Kanal land for the development of a historic museum on Water Works Road has begun. To get the land allotted, a letter has been sent to the provisional revenue department.
He also stated that Multan is a culturally rich city and that the museum would preserve the city’s 5000-year-old history. Commissioner Javed stated that the museum scheme near Fort Kuhna Qasim has been allocated PKR 800 million from the Annual Development Fund. He also mentioned that the South Punjab Secretariat is being built in the city.
According to the commissioner, these measures are part of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar’s Multan uplift project, which was undertaken for the development and rehabilitation of Multan city.
The commissioner also went to Jaswant Singh, the major Bahawalpur road near Shrine Peer Ismail Shah, and Sher Shah road, which are all potential sites for relocating the district jail.
According to the commissioner, the new district jail would be erected on 75 acres of land, with the present jail site being transformed into a recreational park.
