Bahawalpur: According to Pakistan Minister for Industries and Production Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, a new road would be built from Bahawalpur to Jhangra at a cost of Rs 4 billion to connect the Bahawalpur Industrial Zone with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He added that a new route from the Industrial Estate to Iqbalabad in Rahim Yar Khan will be built to connect it to the CPEC.
The minister paid a visit to the Rahim Yar Khan Industrial Estate with Deputy Commissioner Rahim Yar Khan, Dr. Khurram Shahzad.
During the visit, Bakhtiar stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan would be in Bahawalpur on August 11 to announce Bahawalpur Electric Power Company (BEPCO) and the construction of a road from Bahawalpur to Jhangra to connect the Bahawalpur Industrial Zone with the CPEC at a cost of Rs 4 billion.
He further mentioned that the Prime Minister will be inaugurating the South Punjab Secretariat in Bahawalpur.
During his visit, the federal minister told a delegation of industrialists that success in the domains of industry and engineering may help a country flourish.
He stated that the administration was committed to raising the living standards of the people and providing them with all necessary amenities.
Bakhtiar stated that the second phase of the 317-acre Industrial Estate, which will include more facilities, would be approved soon. He stated that a route connecting the Industrial Estate to Iqbalabad would be built to connect it to the CPEC.
He claimed that Bahawalpur and Gujranwala were being developed as model industrial estate divisions. He told the group that gas will be delivered to the industrial estate as soon as possible.
Bakhtiar also told the group that he will raise problems like withholding tax refunds and sales tax reductions with the government and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
