Lahore: According to press reports, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Ahmad Aziz Tarar visited the Shahkam Flyover construction site and reviewed the continuing work on the project. According to the director, the authorities have saved PKR 400 million in construction costs and finished half of the piling work.
Furthermore, the director has directed that the construction work be hastened and finished within the 10-month deadline. He ordered that the work on Defence Road be finished first, then the work on moving the LESCO power lines. The work, according to Chief Engineer LDA Mazhar Hussain Khan, would have no effect on the Sui gas lines. He went on to say that work on upgrading the sewage system is still going on.
The Shahkam Flyover project, which began in June and is expected to be finished in ten months, is being carried out by the National Logistics Company. A total of PKR 4.25 billion has been set aside for the project.
