Islamabad: According to press reports, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) enabled those who had paid their taxes under the tax amnesty programme 2019 for the construction industry to make statements on Friday (September 10). Between September 10 and September 25, taxpayers can file their declaration.

According to the data, this relief would benefit 12,300 persons who paid PKR 2.6 billion in taxes to the FBR in 2019 for reported assets. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance for taxpayers who paid tax under the amnesty programme but were unable to register their declaration. It’s worth noting that the tax payment plan was started in May 2019 and that the declaration had to be made by June 30 ,2019.

Furthermore, in consideration of people’s hardships, the FBR permitted those who deposited tax before the due date but were unable to make declarations for whatever reason to do so. According to reports, 1,321 people filed 2,125 real estate projects worth PKR 350 billion utilising FBR’s IRIS programme. There were 1,775 new projects and 350 existing ones shown. The registered projects must be finished by September 30, 2023, according to the sources.
