Karachi: As per the latest news, the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) recently announced that they would be collecting garbage from designated points in five separate districts throughout the city. This will happen twice a day, and residents will simply need to position their trash in trolleys located at the intersections of streets and service roads. The SSWMB has been charged with revamping dustbins, manual and mechanical road sweeping, washing, as well as the establishment of a Command-and-Control System to oversee the situation and a process for complaint redress.

In terms of complaint redress, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, the system’s in charge, reported that the SSWMB has adopted three methods for dealing with complaints. To begin, people can download the SSWMB app from Google Play and use it to file a complaint, along with a photo of the garbage site.

A text message containing the name, mobile number, and area can also be sent to 0318-1030851, and the complaint will be forwarded to the appropriate assistant director. Finally, those who are worried should call the landline number (021-99333702). The complaint will be forwarded to the appropriate officials after verification of name and location, similar to the texting method.
