Lahore: South Punjab’s Additional Chief Secretary, Capt (retd) Saqib Zaffar, stated on Saturday that the secretariat building would be finished in the allotted time to expedite the public facilitation mission.

During his visit to the building site to inspect the progress, the additional chief secretary stated that the government has established a South Punjab secretariat in the area to provide utmost convenience to the people. He stated that the province government’s objective was to provide services to the people of South Punjab at their doorstep, and that the secretariat had been given all administrative and financial powers.

He went on to say that the secretariat would set up a paperless system for all related departments. He predicted that after the facility was completed, service delivery and governance will improve much further.

Commissioner Multan Division Dr Irshaad Ahmed spoke at the event, saying that the government has given the people of South Punjab a state-of-the-art project. He stated that construction work was continuing at a fast rate and that the project will be completed on schedule.

While updating the extra chief secretary, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Amir Karim Khan stated that the district administration has finished all tasks related to the secretariat building, including land acquisition and revenue. Rizwan Qadeer, Additional Secretary Coordination South Punjab, Khawaja Umair Mahmood, Assistant Commissioner City, and other concerned personnel were also present.
