Lahore: Cholistan, Thal, and Koh-i-Suleman will be electrified with solar energy, according to Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, and the facility would be extended to hundreds of villages in phases. The chief minister gave his consent in principle to convert mosques in backward areas to solar energy in phases while chairing a meeting here on Thursday.

The first off-grid solution (solar energy) project will be inaugurated by the chief minister next month. Mr Buzdar stated that the facility will help people living in distant and far-flung places with their everyday lives, and that the government was aiming to create affordable electricity.
