Lahore: According to news reports, Commissioner Lahore Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Usman enacted Section 6 of the Land Purchase Act 1894 on Monday (December 14) to begin land acquisition for the LDA City Chenab Road project. The project will require the acquisition of 388 kanals and 16 marlas of land from Mouza Thay Panju in the Lahore district.

Officials have agreed to enlarge Chenab Road to 200 feet at a cost of PKR 670 million, with a one-year completion timeline, according to leaked information. The Jinnah Sector will be immediately connected to Ferozepur Road near the Lahore Ring Road after the project is completed.

In other news, Lahore Mayor (retired) Col Mubashir Javed has sanctioned PKR 284.4 million in road infrastructure development projects across the city’s nine zones. The tenders for the 11 road projects have been posted, and bidders must submit their proposals by December 21. On December 22, the tenders will be opened, and work orders will be issued the same day.
