Peshawar: Due to an increase in the construction estimate cost, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has approved an increase in budgetary allocation of Rs. 184 million for the Sarobi Dam in South Waziristan.

The provincial administration had already approved a budget of Rs. 270.7 million for the dam’s development. However, once the anticipated cost was revised, it was discovered that additional monies would be necessary to complete the project. The cost of the project was expected to be Rs. 454 million.

650 acres of land will be irrigated, and 4,200 people will have access to safe drinking water, thanks to the completion of the Sarobi Dam. The Planning and Development Department has authorised the revised cost and mandated that work be completed by June 2022, according to sources.
