Islamabad: According to news reports, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday for a two-day visit, where he was greeted by his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi and two officials held delegation-level talks.
The foreign ministers of the two countries expressed a shared commitment to improving bilateral relations. Russia also reaffirmed its commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in the economy, commerce, and security, while Pakistan pledged to provide enhanced services, including the issuance of e-visas to foreign investors.
The delegates also addressed the Stream Gas Pipeline project, with Minister Qureshi expressing Pakistan’s determination to see it completed as soon as possible. Both delegations decided that the next intergovernmental commission meeting should be held as soon as possible in order to promote bilateral economic ties.
