The rupee closed at 153.24 against the dollar in the interbank market, down 0.16 percent from its previous close of 152.99. “As the new economic team aims to increase exports, we expect the rupee to weaken further in the coming months,” said the dealer.

KR lost 78 paisas against the Euro, 21 paisas against the Pound Sterling (GBP), 63 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD), and Rs. 1.05. against the Canadian Dollar (CAD).
