Peshawar: On the orders of Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan, the Planning and Development (P&D) department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has authorised PKR 5 billion in uplift projects for the seven combined districts and six sub-divisions, according to news reports.

Upgrading roadways, solarizing bazaars, walkway renovations, sewage projects, food streets, playing and recreational spaces, rescue stations, public toilet construction, and slaughterhouse construction are all part of the uplift project. All of these projects are targeted at enhancing economic activity and boosting the region’s local economy.

CM Mehmood has approved PKR 600 million for 42 uplift projects in North Waziristan, PKR 700 million for 140 projects in South Waziristan, PKR 260 million for Daraznada and Kohibahar sub-divisions in Dera Ismail Khan, PKR 250 million for Tank district sub-divisions, and PKR 250 million for nine projects in Beltane sub-division, according to the department.

PKR 600 million has been authorised for 52 projects in Bajaur, PKR 601 million for various uplift projects in Orakzai, and PKR 200 million for six bazaars in the Dara Adam Khel sub-division. Similarly, PKR 250 million has been approved for the upgradation and diversion of tribal sub-division Hassan Khel.

A total of PKR 450 million has been approved for development projects in the bazaars of Khyber district’s Bara, Landi Kotal, and Jamrud tehsils, as well as PKR 650 million for uplift projects in Mohmand district. The initiatives will be directly overseen by the Deputy Commissioners (DC) of the different areas, according to the provincial government.
