Rahim Yar Khan: The Planning Commission has approved the PC-I of a Rs. 2 billion project to repair track in the Sukkur railway division. The money will help strengthen vulnerable locations on the mainline, according to Sukkur’s Divisional Superintendent (DS) Shoaib Aadil.

The PR’s Sukkur division, which stretches over 400 kilometres, has suffered the most derailments in recent years. On Wednesday night, the DS told reporters at the local railway station that they had already begun fixing the track with available resources.

He stated that the RYK railway station, which generates Rs. 25 to 26 million in monthly revenue, would be refurbished soon. The DS stated that the train station building would be whitewashed, and that the number of washrooms on both platforms would be increased.

The DS stated that the passenger quota on all trains of this B grade railway station would be enhanced, and that a request would be filed to Railway Headquarters in this regard. He stated that the RYK railway colony was in poor condition and that attempts will be made to improve it.
