Lahore: According to a news source, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar recently approved preliminary plans for the construction of an underpass at Khalid Butt Chowk and the creation of a one-way flyover at Ghora Chowk in Cavalry. The road connecting Centre Point (Gulberg) and the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Lahore would become a signal-free corridor as a result of these upgrades.

According to available information, the project will cost PKR 2.7 billion and will aid in the process of making the entire Gulberg area signal-free. The National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) will conduct preliminary planning for the idea put presented by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA).

According to the news source, Khalid Butt Chowk will have a four-lane wide dual carriageway and a two-way underpass to make Gulberg signal-free and enable speedy access to DHA, Cantt, and Cavalry via Gulberg. To connect Cavalry with the DHA, a 3-lane wide one-way overhead bridge will be built at Ghora Chowk in Cavalry.

Defense Morr and Walton Road will also be remodeled as part of the project. According to reports, the initiative will provide daily benefits to 150,000 motorists.
