Rawalpindi: According to a piece of recent news, Raja Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, Chairman of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), recently declared that the authority has begun a campaign to raise awareness about unlawful housing projects in the city, with the names of the infringing housing societies published on the RDA’s website.
The chairman told the media that the authority has a window at its headquarters where individuals could get information on the aforementioned housing societies. He went on to say that not all websites could be trusted, since some were involved in the selling and acquisition of plots in unlawful housing projects.
Furthermore, the RDA chairman said that illegal housing organizations were robbing foreign Pakistanis, who frequently relied on untrustworthy web portals. He went on to explain that the chairman has also written to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) requesting that websites that advertise unlawful housing plans be blocked and fined.
Chairman Murtaza further directed the appropriate authorities to expedite the process of obtaining no-objection certificates (NOC) so that investors may invest in the city without fear.
