Rawalpindi: According to media sources, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) convened a meeting to assess the status of ongoing development projects.

The meeting was presided over by RDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza and Director General Nadeem Ahmad Abro. The Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate, State Management Directorate, Administration and Finance Directorate, and Land Development Directorate all attended the meeting.

The RDA chairman issued an order on the occasion, instructing the directorates to assist the general public by raising awareness about unlawful housing plans and the 2020 construction and zoning laws. Furthermore, he urged all authority workers to work honestly in order to solve the city’s citizens’ concerns.

The MP&TE directorate was ordered to keep up the fight against unlawful and unlicensed commercial operations and projects. RDA’s empty land, verification and approval of commercial and residential structures, transfer cases in RDA’s properties, and RIT Schemes were also discussed at the meeting by Director Estate Management Saima Younus.

RDA Chief Engineer Amir Rasheed also spoke about current and finished projects. He mentioned the completion of the dualization work on the Dr Qadeer Khan Road project, which runs from the Islamabad Highway to the Falcon Complex in Rawalpindi. The audience was also given an update on the three pedestrian bridges that are currently being built on Airport Road.

Chairman Murtaza used the occasion to applaud the prompt completion of the Dr Qadeer Khan Road and to emphasise the necessity of high-quality, quick work.
