Rawalpindi: According to news reports, Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) Executive Officer Umer Farooq Ali Malik announced on Tuesday (October 12) that the board had completed development projects worth PKR 1 billion.

The initiatives include the construction of parking spaces, parks, and road restoration, according to Station Commander Brig Ijaz Qamar Kiani. The following are some of the projects that the RCB has done in Rawalpindi’s cantonment area:
- Construction of two parking areas in Saddar
- Carpeting of Kashmir Road and Adam Jee Road
- Development of Quranic Park located on Sher Khan Chowk near Military Hospital
- Construction of ‘Rumi Wall’ near Rumi Park

Reportedly, the parks in the Quranic Park, are decorated with trees whose names have appeared in the Quran including figs and olives.
