Lahore: Tanveer Jabbar, Managing Director (MD) of the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP), stated that the government plans to develop inexpensive glamping pods at numerous tourist spots in the province to boost tourism. The project will cost Rs. 40 million and will help to generate local jobs and tourism while minimising negative environmental consequences.

Pods were put in Murree and Patriata in the first phase, and they will be installed at additional places shortly, including
- Kotli Sattian
- Soon Valley
- Changa Manga

According to a TDCP spokesman, the initiative was launched by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) tourist development authority and was a hit, as they erected glamping pods in
- Thandiani (Galyat)
- Bishigram (Swat)
- Sheikh Badin (Lakki Marwat)
- Shangla (Malakand)
- Sharan (Mansehra)
Following their footsteps, Punjab has also decided to install pods at Murree to divert the tourist rush from the main city to the outskirts by offering affordable accommodation options.
