Lahore: According to Director-General Rescue 1122 Dr Rizwan Naseer, the Punjab government has decided to begin an air ambulance service in the province’s high-risk districts. He stated that the provincial government is doing all necessary to improve the rescue services.

On a daily basis, the rescue service responds to approximately 1,000 traffic accidents across all districts, according to the Rescue 1122 chief. Last month, the Punjab government announced that the ambulance service will be funded in the current fiscal year.
Punjab would be the first province to launch the ‘Rescue 1122 Air Ambulance’ service, according to Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. He also mentioned that the government had increased the scope of rescue services to 86 tehsils and the motorcycle ambulance service to 27 districts.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the Punjab, the country’s largest province, is experiencing a severe scarcity of ambulances for emergency and medical purposes.
A vehicle must be registered with the Punjab Emergency Services Department in order to function as an ambulance, according to the law.
