Syed Amin Ul Haque, the Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications lauded the industry’s recent export success and said the effort to bring IT companies from secondary and tertiary cities into the mainstream was well advanced to assure holistic growth.

The registration fee for IT and ITeS firms in Pakistan, including contact centers and IT start-ups in underserved areas, has been completely waived, he said, in order to encourage the IT industry’s spread across the country.

Haque has set a goal of $5 billion in export remittances via information technology and ITeS over the next three years.
