Rawalpindi: The Punjab Annual Development Program (ADP) will launch 500 new development projects worth Rs. 86.9 billion in Rawalpindi division next month, and it would be assured that the projects are finished within the stipulated deadlines.

Commissioner Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah made this statement while chairing a meeting of the Divisional Development Working Party (DDWP), which evaluated progress on current development projects in Rawalpindi division, which includes Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum.

The commissioner further directed that the policy guidelines for the ongoing development projects should be implemented throughout the division in accordance with the law. He said use of quality materials and speedy completion of projects should be ensured.

According to the report, out of the 361 program in the Rawalpindi district, 264 were new and 97 were continuing. The new schemes include 33 Highway Division schemes, 12 Rural Connectivity Division schemes, 72 Building Division schemes, 50 Local Government and Community Development schemes, 29 Public Health Engineering Department schemes, five Rawalpindi Development Authority schemes, four Sports Department schemes, 50 Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) schemes, two Archaeology Department schemes, two Tourism Department schemes.
