Islamabad: According to media sources, progress on development projects under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was assessed at a meeting on Thursday (November 11).

Gwadar Development Authority Director General Shahzeb Kaka, Gwadar Deputy Commissioner (r) Major Abdul Kabir Khan Zarkoon, China Overseas Port Handling Company Chairman Zhang Bao Zong, and Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Chairman Naseer Ahmed Kashani, according to reports, briefed the meeting on the status of ongoing development schemes under CPEC.

During the meeting, Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana covered a variety of challenges in Gwadar and the neighbouring districts, including electricity and drinking water.

Furthermore, the chief secretary indicated that a fire station should be built in the area, as well as fire tenders for the district. He went on to say that modifications in fisheries law were needed to meet contemporary requirements.

In addition, Chief Secretary Rana recommended that the greatest medical care be provided and that the health department’s performance be improved. He also examined the implementation of the previous meeting’s decisions and directed necessary authorities to ensure that they were carried out.
