Islamabad: President Arif Alvi launched the Roshan Apna Ghar initiative in the United Arab Emirates on Monday in an effort to entice Non-Resident Pakistanis (NRPs) to engage in the country’s real estate sector. According to an official release, during his first official visit to the UAE, Alvi expressed his hope that NRPs will make the most of the Roshan Apna Ghar scheme.

He was speaking at a property exhibition for UAE-based NRPs, which was organised by Pakistani banks offering the Roshan Digital Account (RDA) in collaboration with builders and developers to display their RDA-enabled properties.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has launched an initiative that allows non-resident Pakistanis (NRPs) to buy, develop, or repair their homes in Pakistan using their own funds or bank financing.n The president stated that the central bank, with the help of commercial banks, has given NRPs a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase a property, which was previously a difficult task due to a variety of factors.

SBP Governor Dr Reza Baqir said that since its introduction in September last year, RDA has proven to be a major success and has become a household name, linking over 250,000 NRPs under one roof and attracting over $2.5 billion.
