Islamabad: According to news reports, Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed briefed Federal Ombudsman Syed Tahir Shahbaz on the possession handover of 2,000 units under construction in Sector I-15, which would begin in December this year.

Mr Shahbaz was also informed that the Category-I flats in Islamabad have been finished and that Category-II homes are now being built. In addition, 70% of the work on parks and other amenities has been finished. Work in Sectors C-15, E-12, and I-12 is also ongoing, according to the CDA chairman, and possession will begin soon.

While the ombudsman was chairing a CDA authority meeting to examine the status of development projects in Islamabad, these information were revealed. Mr Shahbaz instructed the authority to digitise its records by September 30 at the meeting. He also requested that the civic body prioritise the construction of an access road for the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority’s (FGEHA) Bhara Kahu project.

Before beginning any new project or public/private housing plan, the CDA Chairman was also ordered to ensure that all codal requirements of the rules were completed. The chairman informed the gathering that work on I.J. Principal Road, the Bhara Kahu bypass, and the Margalla Highway had begun, and that work on the Rawal Dam Chowk and 7th Avenue interchanges had begun. It was mentioned that the PWD interchange is almost finished.

In addition, the CDA chairman stated that superfluous committees are being eliminated in order to simplify the authority’s overall structure for residents. In Sector G-7, a single-window facilitation desk has been constructed to this end.
