Islamabad: Afzal Ahmad Kausar, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations), urged concerned officials on Tuesday to protect residents’ lives and property, adding that failure to do so will not be accepted under any circumstances.

The DIG instructed officials to apprehend all individuals involved in property crime and recover the looted commodities while chairing a meeting to examine the crime situation in the capital. The meeting was attended by SSP Operations Dr Syed Mustafa Tanveer, SSP CTD Malik Zafar Jamil, and other authorities involved.
The group went through the current crime scenario and asked each officer about their performance individually. All cops have been given strong orders by the DIG to protect civilians’ lives and property. The culprits should be caught and the looted commodities retrieved as quickly as possible, he added, adding that suspicious elements should be properly monitored.

Mr Kausar ordered that all officers meet with complainants and keep them updated on the status of their cases in order to restore public trust in the police. The murder and attempted murder investigations should be completed as soon as possible by the subdivisional police officers.
