Peshawar: According to press reports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has been notified that the Project Management Unit (PMU) is being established for the execution of the Gandhara Valley City project.

CM Khan presided over a high-level meeting at which guests were briefed on several facets of the massive project. During the meeting, it was revealed that the master plan for the Gandhara City project will be completed in six months, after which construction will begin. It was also claimed that the project manager recruitment process will begin soon.

More information regarding the Gandhara city project was shared, including the fact that it is being built on approximately 100,000 kanals of land near the Nowshera-Peshawar intersection. All state-of-the-art civic facilities, including recreational, medical, educational, and commercial, will be included in the project.

In addition, the projected city will have a Media Enclave for Peshawar journalists, totaling 1,132 kanals of land. It was also decided to issue provisional plot allotment letters to Peshawar Press Club journalists. A committee comprised of the President of the Peshawar Press Club and other relevant officials was constituted to devise a mechanism for letter distribution.

Giving details about the categories of plots in Gandhara Valley City, the attendees were informed that Peshawar Development Authority’s board has approved a formula under which:

• 2% of the residential area would comprise four-kanal plots

• 4% will consist of two-kanal plots

• 16% of five-marla plots

• 17% of seven marla plots

• 30% of ten-marla plots

• 30% of one-kanal plots
