Islamabad: According to press reports, Prime Minister Imran Khan called a meeting on Thursday to discuss the status of the Ravi Urban City and Business District projects.
Lt. Gen (retd) Anwar Ali Haider, Chairman Naya Pakistan Housing Authority, Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin, CEO Ravi Urban Development Authority Imran Amin, Special Assistant Dr. Shahbaz Gill, Vice Chairman Lahore Development Authority S.M. Imran Amin, and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
The meeting heard that after the contract is finalized, development work on Sapphire Bay will begin. The Environmental Protection Agency has been directed by the Judicial Water Commission to expedite the Ravi Urban City project approval process.
More precisely, it was claimed that the proposed project included a quota for local labor. It was also stated that the opportunity will benefit around 100,000 families.
The auction procedure for the Central Business District Project is set to begin in the first week of July 2021, according to reports.
According to rumors, Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and Nespak have collaborated to form a project board. The board will approve the design, and development will begin the following week.
The Prime Minister gave an update on the use of innovative technology to tackle water scarcity during the meeting. He led the creation of a strategy for the establishment of a wastewater treatment plant to supply clean water for both agricultural and urban applications. In addition, the Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) would relocate three water facilities to Ravi City.
