Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Bahawalpur tomorrow (Wednesday) for a one-day visit to open the South Punjab Secretariat.

The Prime Minister will be briefed on the South Punjab Secretariat by Additional Chief Secretary South Punjab Capt (r) Saqib Zafar. The PM is also anticipated to announce the construction of a Bahawalpur-Jhangra link road that will connect Bahawalpur to the M5 highway.

Later, he will visit the Islamia University of Bahawalpur to open several projects, including the National Cotton Breeding Institute, the Intercropping Research Center, a 2.5 MW solar power plant, the University College of Nursing, the Cricket Stadium, and other structures.

Prof Dr. Athar Mahboob, the Vice-Chancellor, will brief the Prime Minister on the university’s performance and progress, as well as agricultural research and Cholistan land cultivation by the university’s Cholistan Institute of Desert Studies.

The Prime Minister will also attend a ceremony to hand out Kissan Cards to farmers.

He’ll then go to Lal Sohanra for the tree-planting initiative. The Prime Minister will be accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Syed Fakhar Imam, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Food Security Jamshed Iqbal Cheema.
