Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the repair and upgrading of the Jhaljao-Bela Road on Wednesday, which will connect the Balochistan towns of Awaran and Bela. The project is under the administrative supervision of the Balochistan government, and it will be carried out by the National Highway Authority (NHA).

According to the project brief, the restoration and upgrade of the 80-kilometer road will cost Rs9.56 billion and take three years to complete. The route would have two lanes and 182 culverts, with a daily traffic capacity of 2,645 vehicles.

More than 2, 756 direct and indirect employment would be created as a result of the project, as well as improved traffic flow and lower vehicle running costs. In addition to ensuring better farm to market access, it would also boost economic activity and overall uplift in the surrounding areas.
