Islamabad: On Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the Roshan Apna Ghar initiative, according to PTI Senator Faisal Javed Khan. Faisal Javed Khan stated in a tweet that the initiative is being launched in conjunction with the finance ministry and the State Bank of Pakistan.
According to local media reports, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), with the support of eight major banks in the country, is leading the project in which Pakistani diaspora can use a digital payment system to access banking services and consumers can open bank accounts without visiting a bank, embassy, or consulate.
Pakistanis residing overseas may use the initiative to manage their accounts without having to travel to Pakistan and can use direct banking, bill paying, and other e-commerce services. These accounts might also be utilised to invest in Pakistani stock exchanges and real estate. Customers will also be able to choose between opening a Pakistani currency or a foreign currency account.
